I am continually grateful for the mentorship that is found within National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC). Today, I had the honor to present with William Johnson and explore the importances of our careers that are timeless. As a young professional, I am constantly reminded that growth isn't always linear, and challenges are an essential part of the journey. The work we each contribute every day is invaluable, and it continues to shape our collective progress. I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead and learning from the journey. Thank you to each individual who has shaped my career up to this point and continues to push me forward to higher places. William Johnson, thank you for your time meeting with me weekly to discuss this presentation and for your willing heart in doing this today. It truly is an honor to do this and be surrounded by the NSGIC community.

Making connections in this field is probably one of the most rewarding experiences. Learning from others about the work that we all do and lessons learned from recent events helps us to build a more prepared future. One of my roles has been as a co-chair of the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) Geospatial Preparedness Group. This group meets regularly to discuss key initiatives and lessons learned from recent events. If you are interested in some of the work our group does, you can view our informational page here: https://lnkd.in/gPZVDqVf. We do have an upcoming meeting on March 5th at 10AM pacific. We will be talking about lessons learned and experiences from Florida's response activities from the recent hurricane responses and the statewide geospatial coordination they had late last year. I'd encourage anyone attend this meeting - it is open to everyone. If you'd like the Zoom link, please message me!
