The Dames waved a fond farewell to Martha Hoffman upon her retirement, and had the chance to meet Eva Widder, both of the Minnesota Historical Society, at our recent event honoring this year’s History Day winner of our topical prize. Thank you, Martha, for all you’ve done for the Dames over the years! And thank you for introducing us to Eva. History Day is one of several programs the Dames support at the Minnesota Historical Society and it’s always a delight to spend time with the people who keep us in the loop.

What an inspiration it was to meet the 2024 NSCDA-MN International Student Scholars today at our annual meeting at the Alexander Ramsey House in St. Paul. The work they will do as they go out into the world will surely make a difference. We are so glad the Dames could help them overcome the final challenges on their journey! And it was great fun to support one who will be a part of historical preservation - something near and dear to our hearts.

A big thank you to Gunston Hall Executive Director Scott Stroh and everyone who made his visit to NSCDA-MN a success tonight! Scott, pictured here with trustee Nancy Lavely, gave a dynamic presentation on George Mason, America’s “forgotten founder,” to Minnesota Dames and guests, including many members from our local DAR chapters. Thank you, Scott, for making the trip and leaving us all a little more knowledgeable.
