Everyone should be able to live in a place where good health is within reach. Yet, harmful laws and policies make it harder for some to access essentials like stable jobs, affordable homes, and reliable ways to get where they need to go. Local data focused on what is happening in communities is one of the best ways to identify the needs of community residents and better understand the barriers they face to meeting those challenges. Partnering with the Urban Institute, we’ve introduced a new “Local Data for Equitable Communities” grant program to empower local nonprofits to use data to create thriving, inclusive communities. Proposals will be accepted through March 18.

#SoberingNews #NSC Founding Members, Sobering Center Austin has helped over 13,000 individuals since 2018 and is expanding their services with a newly renovated second floor. This space will offer a safe environment for people to recover while connecting them to long-term rehab programs. The expansion will especially benefit those without insurance, providing vital care until they are admitted to a treatment facility. With a projected $500K in additional funding needed for staffing, the team is hopeful of being operational by fall.
