You studied all the time and became a scholar. Yet you never bothered reading your own soul. You are always eager to enter temples and mosques. Yet you never tried to enter the shrine of your own heart. Futile are all your battles with the devil, for you have never tried to fight your own desires/ego/nafs. Says Seer, Bulleh Shah,You have reached into the skies, Yet you have failed to grasp the light in your soul... ~ Bulleh Shah Credits @mewlana_rumi_poetry Source - Instagram

Sikhs believe in equality and tolerance for all!!
关于我们
Even though Sikhs have made great contributions to society like running major corporations, inventing fiber optics, and even claim the oldest athlete in the world these stories are never told. A majority of Americans cannot even accurately identify a Sikh. The few national conversations about Sikhism, have portrayed Sikhs as victims. The Sikh community needs to define who we are because we know: Sikh values are American values. As a result, the National Sikh Campaign is a data-driven, grassroots and media campaign that is being led with the help of top political strategists from the Obama and Hillary campaigns to build the image of Sikhs in America. The campaign is reaching to various Gurdwaras, Sikh organizations, and stakeholders within America and internationally to create the largest network of Sikhs and the most influential PR effort ever for Sikhism.

Oneness. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the founder of the Sikh religion. Born in the Punjab region he was known for his deep spirituality from a young age and had a series of profound spiritual experiences that shaped his teachings and mission. His teachings were radical for his time and emphasised equality, compassion, and the realisation of the Divine presence in all. Nanak’s central message, encapsulated in the phrase Ik Onkar, meaning “One Universal Creator,” underscores the foundational Sikh belief in the oneness of all existence. This phrase is found at the very beginning of the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism, and it signifies that there is one universal, formless God who is the source of all creation. The Importance of Ik Onkar and the Oneness Factor Unity of Humanity: Guru Nanak emphasised that all people, regardless of caste, religion, or gender, are interconnected and unified under the same Divine presence. By recognising this oneness, humanity could transcend social and religious divisions, promoting a spirit of equality and unity. Spiritual Liberation: Ik Onkar represents the realisation that the Divine resides in every being and aspect of creation. Guru Nanak taught that by meditating on this truth and serving humanity, individuals can experience spiritual liberation and live with compassion, humility, and selflessness. Balance Between the Spiritual and Material: The concept of oneness encourages individuals to live a balanced life, combining worldly responsibilities with spiritual practices. Guru Nanak taught that spiritual awakening isn’t achieved by renouncing the world but by embracing it and serving it with compassion and humility. Guru Nanak’s message of Ik Onkar is a timeless reminder of the interconnectedness of all life and the unity of existence. His teachings encourage us to live mindfully, respecting each other’s divinity, and to cultivate a spirit of unity and love for all. Credits @chazfliy Source - Instagram

The last few days have been very heavy. Since I learned of the vicious and life threatening assault on this family - I’ve tapped on every resource possible to amplify their story. We - as a community can not stand for this. So many of our ancestors traveled thousands of miles from their mother land in pursuit of the American dream. To finally one day be able to purchase a home in this great country. Who would of thought that the American dream will turn into an American nightmare - in which tenants refuse to pay rent for months and years while mocking your religion and being. We can not let this slide any longer. In the last few years I’ve heard so many folks going through similar issues - and for the Sohal family the worst case scenario played out a few days ago when their tenants got extremely violent and their 19 year son was nearly chocked to death. They are humbled by the support they’ve received over the last few days - and as we work to help uplift this family and lean into all our resources to fight for justice, please keep them in your prayers and show them some love in the comments. Despite how challenging things have been for the Sikh community throughout history, the selfless service (seva) and Chardi Khala (remaining in high spirits), attitude instilled in us from birth - makes us stay resilient in our pursuit for justice while also being front and center for any community that is in need. As we celebrate the Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the upcoming days - let us continue to follow in his footsteps and spread his message of equality and justice for all! Good stuff Singho ??
