Senior Games promote health and well-being and inspire participants to keep moving. This year we worked with many supporters to achieve this important aim! Thank you to the Tampa Bay Rays and Florida Senior Games (Florida Sports Foundation) for hosting and partnering for two successful nights at the ballpark - Olympics Night and Older Adults Day. Thank you to the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) which collaborated with us to develop a themed webpage for #ActiveAgingWeek promoting opportunities for older adults to be active through sports. We're proud to have many Veterans, like Athlete of the Month Joel Lockwood, as competitors in the National Senior Games. Joel's swimming talent was spotted while he was in basic training, and he went on to race for his regiment at the Fifth Army meet and in the All-Army competition. Joel took a 55-year break from the sport and was encouraged to return by a masters swimmer in his area. Since 2012, he's set records and is preparing to swim in the 90-95 age group at the National Senior Games next summer. Read Joel's story: https://lnkd.in/gP5UXap2 We recognize and thank all Veterans and their families for their service, courage and sacrifice. #VeteransDay #Veteran
