关于我们
The National Research Center on Hispanic Children & Families (Center) conducts research to help programs and policy better serve Hispanic children and families with low incomes. Our research focuses on poverty reduction and economic self-sufficiency; child care and early education, including federal programs such as Head Start (HS) and the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF); and cross-cutting topics that include parenting, family structure, and family dynamics. A key part of our mission is to build research capacity to inform policy and service delivery by providing tools, resources, and support for emerging scholars. The Center is led by Child Trends, in partnership with Duke University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and University of Maryland, College Park. The Center is supported by the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation within the Administration for Children and Families in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The National Research Center on Hispanic Children & Families (Center) is supported by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) of the United States (U.S.) Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of two financial assistance awards (Award # 90PH0028, from 2018-2023, and Award # 90PH0032 from 2023-2028) totaling $13.5 million across the two awards with 99 percent funded by ACF/HHS and 1 percentage funded by non-government sources. The contents are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement, by ACF/HHS, or the U.S. Government. Are you interested in information to improve access to child care subsidies? Our new brief summarizes key lessons from the Multi-State Study of CCDF Implementation in Local Communities, a study of how child care subsidy programs are implemented across four states with Hispanic children with families with low income. This brief focuses on staff practices and perspectives related to three aspects of CCDF implementation: documentation collected from subsidy applicants to establish program eligibility; language accessibility; and outreach to potentially eligible Latino families. Findings show that more than half of staff in each of the four states noted documentation challenges for Latino families applying for subsidies. https://lnkd.in/gnpXz5d8 #Childcare #publicpolicy #socialassistance
