"We are a highly interdisciplinary group with interest ranging from proteostasis in zebrafish to the conformational dynamics of active transporters. While historically we were an experimental lab, we have embraced the recent revolution in protein structure prediction and our research platform integrates deep learning methods, such as AlphaFold2, with experimental biophysical approaches to investigate structure/dynamics/function in multiple classes of transporters including ABC transporters and neurotransmitter transporters. Current experimental focus in the lab is on the application of cryo-EM, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR), transport assays in the context of computational modeling."
