NPB is pleased to announce our second annual Request for Proposals for our 2025 allergy grant program. This year, NPB has increased the total availability of grant funding to $550,000 for qualified projects designed to advance research in the prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment of peanut allergies. Letter of Inquiry submissions for this 2025 RFP cycle are now open and will be accepted through Friday, May 9th until 11:59pm EST. The National Peanut Board (NPB) continues to be committed to supporting research that advances food allergy solutions for the prevention, management, and eventual end of peanut allergies. ?? BUSTING AGRICULTURE MYTHS on #NationalAgDay! ?? Misinformation about farming spreads fast, but we’re here to set the record straight! Today, on #NationalAgricultureDay, let’s celebrate our farmers by tackling some of the biggest myths in agriculture: ? Myth: Organic produce is always healthier. ? Truth: Both organic and conventional foods are equally nutritious and safe! Farmers choose the best practices for their crops. ? Myth: Organic means pesticide-free. ? Truth: Organic farmers can use “natural” pesticides. No matter the method, washing produce under running water removes residues. ? Myth: GMOs are unsafe and in everything. ? Truth: GMOs are highly tested and designed for sustainability. Only 11 GMO crops are grown in the U.S., including corn, soybeans, and apples. ? Myth: All farms are big corporations. ? Truth: 96% of U.S. farms are family-owned! Most are small farms run by passionate farmers feeding their communities. Want to share accurate agriculture facts? Remember the Three R’s: ??
