Investing in technology, staffing, and infrastructure is done much quicker than our big box competition. Pricing – independent dealers can meet your pricing needs. We don’t answer to shareholders or private equity; we can work directly with manufacturers to find rebates, negotiate costs down to facilitate your requirements, and work with you to find common ground. Product Access – We all use the same manufacturers and wholesalers. In fact, one of the largest wholesalers who support independent dealers is owned by Staples. Through the two largest wholesalers alone, we have access to over 70 distribution centers across the continental USA that carry close to $500M in stock. We can provide next-day delivery to the entire USA! The big box retailers use the same wholesalers! Technology – independent dealers utilize a vast network of innovative e-commerce partners who provide solutions equal to or better than the big box retailers. We can integrate with your punch-out systems, internal catalogs, and any other system your business is utilizing. All the functionality you get from big box, you get from independent dealers. What else can we provide? ?We are local. When you work with local businesses, you keep your supply spend in your local economy where many of your teammates work and live. This helps fund schools, infrastructure, social programs, and much more. We are diverse. Our staff mirror the makeup of our communities. Traditionally underutilized businesses receive an opportunity to grow their businesses and invest in their communities. And your spend goes directly to a diverse business as opposed to a pass-through where the diverse business gets a very small amount of the revenue and the big box retailer does exactly the opposite of what diverse procurement is meant to accomplish. We are hungry. Unless you are a top 15 account with a big box retailer, do you really matter to them? How many Account Representatives have you had over the term of your relationship? How often do they provide account reviews? Is their customer service department offshore? Moving your business to an independent will be the best experience you could hope for, as you’ll receive that level of service and appreciation your business deserves. If you are using a pass-through with a big box retailer, maybe it’s time to look at going direct with Independents.
