Federal Advisory Committees (FACs) are a valuable facet of democracy. They provide public input to the executive branch on how to make government work better for the American people. ?The Florida governor’s office did not approve the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary’s Restoration Blueprint in state waters. ??The Sanctuary has been undergoing a management plan and regulatory review since 2019. It represents more than ten years of collaboration among agencies and stakeholders. Without swift intervention, these treasured resources remain vulnerable to harm. Implementing conservation measures to safeguard the Florida Keys economy, cultural heritage, and natural resources for the benefit of current and future generations is essential.??
