As the shift to value-based care (VBC) continues, strong collaboration between Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and providers is critical. Yet, many long-term services and supports (LTSS) providers face significant challenges—ranging from capacity constraints and data infrastructure gaps to the administrative burden of navigating multiple MCO processes. To address these barriers, the National MLTSS Health Plan Association has developed a structured framework to guide the development of successful plan-provider VBC relationships. This framework breaks the process into three key phases: ?? Discovery Phase ?? Joint Planning Phase ?? Execution & Assessment Phase While these steps often overlap in practice, intentionally structuring them ensures that providers and MCOs can work together effectively—leading to improved outcomes for individuals receiving LTSS! ?? On January 17, 2025, the National MLTSS Health Plan Association submitted comments on the Department of Labor’s proposed rule to phase out the sub-minimum wage for individuals with disabilities. This proposal is a critical step toward fostering equity, inclusion, and economic empowerment in the workforce. In our comments, we highlighted the outstanding work of our members in expanding competitive integrated employment opportunities—ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to meaningful careers that honor dignity, respect, and full potential. As we move toward a more inclusive labor market, we remain committed to policies and programs that drive sustainable, person-centered employment solutions. January 1st marked the start of significant changes to Medicare Advantage enrollment and prescription drug plans. The change is meant to improve experiences and health outcomes, but people who are eligible for Medicare and Medicaid may still have questions about what the changes mean for their often-complex coverage.
