Tyra Gross, PhD, MPH, and Kimberly Sears Allers, MS, will be co-presenting this year’s Breastfeeding Grand Rounds, hosted by the University at Albany. ? The webcast is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18 at 10 a.m. to noon ET. Registration is required. ? Dr. Gross and Ms. Allers will cover:? ?? How parents’ feeding choices and mental health are influenced by social media content.? ?? The predatory marketing tactics of non-World Health Organization-code compliant companies.?? ?? Strategies professionals can use to promote evidence-based information about breastfeeding/chestfeeding on social media.?? Dr. Gross is a faculty fellow with our MCH Faculty Development Fellowship Program at Diverse Institutions.

This Friday! Shameika Williams, EdD, MPH, is presenting a virtual seminar titled “Expanding MCH Capacity at a Minority-Serving Institution through Curriculum Enhancements and Community Interventions.” The seminar is hosted by the University at Albany’s Maternal and Child Health Program.? Williams is a faculty fellow with our MCH Faculty Development Fellowship Program at Diverse Institutions. One of the focuses of her talk will be her fellowship-supported work at SUNY Old Westbury to expand the university’s MCH offerings. We ask teams to complete a letter of commitment template with: ?? A 3-sentence description of a?"real-world" challenge. We will support your team in working to address this challenge. ?? Signatures indicating support?from: the Title V and/or CYSHCN director, any additional key senior leaders, the two team co-leads, and a proposed team member from each agency involved in the team's work.
