At the Michigan Municipal League 2024 Convention this week, NLC CEO Clarence Anthony highlighted just a few of Michigan’s communities that have secured funding thanks to the #LocalInfrastructureHub’s grant-writing trainings. ?? Portage, MI won $76,800 for energy efficiency ?? Meridian, MI won $76,400 for energy efficiency ?? Dearborn, MI won $24.8 million for safe streets and roads The Local Infrastructure Hub (LIH) is a national program helping cities develop competitive grant applications for federal funding. Through this program, local governments throughout the country have secured $275 million in federal grant funds! If something terrible happens, we need to work together to keep ourselves safe.” Former NLC President and Former Mayor of City of Minnetonka Karen J Anderson reflected in a recent interview on how the tragic events of September 11, 2001 redirected the priorities of her city and the organization. Today, we pause to remember that day. The National League of Cities honors the thousands of innocent lives lost and the bravery of the first responders who rushed into harm's way. We will never forget.
