This week NHL employees from the NHL’s New York City office volunteered to pack meals on the Intrepid alongside employees representing Major League Baseball (MLB), National Football League (NFL), and ESPN as part of 9/11 Day and the National Day of Service and Remembrance.?Every year, the “9/11 Day” nonprofit organization gathers 30,000 volunteers across 21 different cities in the United States, packing 8.6 million meals. ? Meet Colin Brennan, MBA (He/Him), Project Manager, IT As a lifelong hockey goaltender, Colin Brennan always had his eye on the NHL. The summer before he entered his senior year at Nichols College, Colin joined the NHL as a summer intern on the Project Management team. One year and a bachelor's degree later, Colin pursued a full-time position as a Business Analyst, and six years later, he is proud to still wear the NHL shield. Colin partners with numerous internal business units and external parties to add value to the League. Reporting to Carol Dann, Colin works within a very collaborative and highly communicative group to develop innovative processes for the League and its Clubs. One of the projects Colin is currently working on is modernizing the Central Registry suite of applications and infrastructure to support internal decision-making and legal agreement compliance and provide tangible resources for end consumers. Through the encouragement of his leader and team, Colin returned to school to receive his MBA from Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst. He loves that he is provided with great mentors to help him improve his skills, personally and professionally, and he passes on that knowledge by hosting a technology-specific seminar for the interns. Colin's influence and impact within the NHL extend beyond his technical roles. He has served in leadership positions, such as the co-chair and sub-committee lead in the NHL Growth, Opportunity, Achievement, Leadership (G.O.A.L.) ERG. His career-oriented and relationship-driven approach allowed him to understand the needs of the G.O.A.L. ERG members and advocate for them to senior leadership. He is excited to continue his work alongside his teammates, both in the IT department and others, to drive digital transformation and innovation within the League.
