The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum is among the nations most dynamic cultural and educational institutions. Because it is a wax museum committed solely to the study and preservation of African American history, it is also among the most unique. Primarily, the presentation of life-size, life-like wax figures highlighting historical and contemporary personalities of African ancestry defines its uniqueness.

Ballot questions ask voters to approve or reject spending items — typically bonds — or changes to the form, structure or purpose of local government, often by amending the charter. The questions are listed as they will appear on the Baltimore city ballot with Banner staff providing a explanation of what the question would do and what a ‘for’ or ‘against’ vote means. "Vote" by Simmie Knox (b. 1935) -- this painting depicts Fannie Lou Hamer and Ella Baker Fannie Lou Hamer and Ella Baker were pivotal civil rights activists who championed grassroots organizing and political participation for African Americans. Hamer, known for her powerful speeches, co-founded the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party and fought for voting rights, famously declaring, "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired." Baker, a key strategist behind the NAACP, SCLC, and SNCC, believed in empowering ordinary people, particularly Black youth and women, to lead their own communities. Both women’s legacies emphasize collective action and the fight for racial justice and equality.

#blackvotesmatter Black Americans may not vote primarily on foreign policy, but many are paying attention to how international issues impact their lives. A recent survey reveals that 83% of Black respondents consider a presidential candidate’s foreign policy at least somewhat important, even if more immediate domestic issues like employment, healthcare, and racial equality often take priority. The connection between foreign policy and economic/health concerns is evident, with global trade and pandemic response shaping everyday realities. This shows a deeper, growing awareness of the impact foreign policy can have on local communities. #blackvotesmatter #baltimorevote Read more: https://lnkd.in/eNF-zxAK
