We are the Language Center of the Pacific
关于我们
The goal of the National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC) is to expand the nation’s capacity to teach and learn foreign languages effectively through research and materials development projects, especially the less commonly taught languages of Asia and the Pacific. The primary audience for most NFLRC endeavors is language instructors and applied linguists involved in these languages. However, NFLRC projects are intended to have implications for the teaching and learning of all languages, with results being disseminated to the larger educational community through publications, summer institutes, conferences, workshops, symposia, online learning events, etc. The NFLRC also conducts outreach to governmental agencies, language and area studies centers, and others concerned with strengthening the nation’s capacity in this field.

SLRP Volume 5 Announcement (from the co-editors): We are delighted to announce the publication of SLRP Volume 5 Issue 1, which went live in December. The overarching theme of the volume is “Pedagogies of the 21st century: Supporting all stakeholders” and is divided into a section on language program directors’ perspectives and a section on teachers and students’ perspectives. The volume contains four research articles and five praxis reports. To acknowledge the importance of all forms of scholarship, we made the choice to thematically organize the submissions rather than by submission type (see table of contents below). We encourage you to explore all the articles, but if time is limited and you want to explore the articles, the abstracts as well as our summaries in the introduction might be helpful. As we indicated in our announcement section, we are grateful to the support of so many: the previous SLRP editors and the AAUSC leadership for their trust in us, the authors, the reviewers, the editorial board members, our editorial assistants, the staff at the National Foreign Language Resource Center, and our sponsors. As a reminder, SLRP is published on behalf of the American Association of University Supervisors, Coordinators, and Directors of Language Program (AAUSC) by the National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC) at the University of Hawai’i at M?noa. The journal is also supported by the following centers: Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA), University of Minnesota; Center for Educational Resources in Culture, Language, and Literacy (CERCLL), University of Arizona; and the Second Language Teaching and Resource Center (L2TReC), University of Utah. ... We wish you a wonderful 2025 and look forward to additional submissions for volume 6. Jesse Gleason and Senta Goertler Co-Editors, Second Language Research and Practice https://lnkd.in/g5tqNNS4
