This Earth Day, we want to share the importance of the historic, recent investments from Congress in voluntary, incentive-based agricultural conservation programs and renewable energy programs that are helping farmers adapt to a changing climate, play a larger role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, all while supporting new market opportunities for climate-smart commodities. Congress should protect this funding in the next farm bill to ensure family farmers and our communities have the resources they need to build a more resilient future.

That's a wrap on the 122nd Anniversary National Farmers Union Convention, marking a new year in our grassroots policy. Delegates from all around the country debated and voted on the direction for our advocacy in the coming year, including six special orders of business that further emphasize our stances. We're proud of the democratic governance principles and processes which guide our organization, especially in this time of declining trust in public institutions. We emphasized this theme throughout this year's event.
