The Alliance for Aging Research, LuMind IDSC Foundation, and NDSS are teaming up to present an online course to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease, research, and how it impacts people with Down syndrome! If you are an adult with Down syndrome, or a caregiver of an adult with Down syndrome, we invite you to join the online Pathways to Parity program! In this online course, you can learn about what clinical research is, the purpose of and best practices in engaging in research, how to develop research questions meaningful to adults with dementia and/or memory issues, and key scientific tools and concepts to better understand health research. HUGE FEDERAL POLICY WIN! ?? The Congenital Heart Futures Reauthorization Act which continues the work of the National Congenital Heart Disease Research, Surveillance, and Awareness Program has been signed into law! ?? This legislation is critical to the Down syndrome community as 50% of individuals with Down syndrome are born with a congenital heart defect. NDSS was proud to champion this legislation alongside our friends at Conquering CHD and is appreciative of the bipartisan leadership in Congress. ??
