?? Meet Mark Volz, Director of Business Development at CU Strategic Planning, and hear how DE Training changed his perspective and life! Mark attended DE Training in November 2019, and what he thought would be a networking opportunity turned into a life-changing experience. From forming lifelong friendships with his tablemates, "The Plastics," to gaining a deeper understanding of issues like housing insecurity, DE Training opened his eyes in ways he never expected. His top takeaways? ?? 1?? Meet people where they are—don’t “should” on them. 2?? Listening is more important than being the loudest. 3?? None of us is as strong as ALL of us. Mark has since integrated these lessons into his work, helping credit unions secure grant funds for low-income communities. His project? Leading a trip to El Salvador to build homes with Habitat for Humanity and fostering cross-border collaboration between financial institutions and nonprofits. ??
