The Industry Leader In Performance-Based Contracting?

关于我们

National Comfort Institute, Inc. (NCI) is a national training and membership organization created to help HVAC and building performance contractors transform their businesses, improve their bottom line and deliver outstanding service to their customers. We accomplish this by focusing on the delivery of true heating and cooling system performance in the systems our contractors design, sell, install, and service. This includes residential and light commercial forced air and hot water systems. We have termed this type of total system measurement "Performance-Based Contracting," and we believe it is the future of HVAC contracting. NCI’s System Performance & Air Balancing Courses have been attended by thousands of contractors and for many it has changed the way they do their everyday business. In this training contractors begin to understand how air pressure and air flow control true comfort. Additionally, NCI offers training and education in the areas of Carbon Monoxide Detection and Combustion Analysis. Our CO/combustion courses have been known to “totally change the way a contractor thinks about carbon monoxide” and to dispel many myths and preconceived notions about what are acceptable levels of CO and how to prevent CO poisoning from occurring in the home or office. National Comfort Institute is much more than training. We provide a variety of support services for HVAC Contractors and Building Performance Professionals. • A Morning Thought When you have a strong will and burning desire to accomplish your goals, the obstacles you encounter along the way are life's ways to strengthen you and help you persevere. By sticking with your convictions that the path you are taking is the right one, and staying determined and self-confident throughout even the toughest situations, you will prevail. There are no limits to the success you can acquire when you have a deep-rooted passion to achieve. Never cease to outdo yourself! "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill Have a strong day! Dom?

  • A Morning Thought We don't act in the right way because we have achieved excellence, rather we achieve excellence because we have acted in the right way, and live by solid principles. These principles are reinforced and learned every day through the habit of living by them. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is not an act, but a result of habit. "If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude."- Charles R. Swindoll Have an Excellent day! Dom

  • A Morning Thought Everything around you and within you is constantly changing. The people that resist this process just let change happen to them, and are usually never happy with the results. You can usually hear them talking about how unfair everything is and how they want things to stay the way they have always been. True growth comes from embracing change, and effecting change. Embrace change and become a change agent, or resist it and be controlled by it. It's your choice. Be curious, ask the right questions, complain less, and remember to breathe! "Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely." - Unknown Have a growing day! Dom??

  • A Morning Thought We often focus too much on overcoming our weaknesses rather than building on our strengths. The truth is we can't be good at everything. But rather than trying to overcome the things you're not really good at, why not build on your existing strengths? One good way to start the process is take stock of your strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes you can't avoid doing things you're not good at - it comes with the territory. But set that list aside and focus on your list of strengths and look for ways to weave them together as a foundation you can build on. By doing this, you dramatically increase your chances of going from being "Good" at something to being "Great" at it. "Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." - John Wooden Have a strong day! Dom

  • In his March 2025 One More Thing column in @HVACToday magazine, @Team_NCI’s CEO Dominick Guarino discusses the next generation of #HVAC leaders he met during the 2025 AHR Expo in January. In fact, during a panel discussion attended by 100 students from local technical schools, the conversations focused on careers, not jobs. The students expressed interest in the technologies available for them to work with in the #HVAC trade and what some of the challenges they might expect to face. The panel, which consisted of HVAC contractors, was united in advising the students that being a service tech or installer is something to be very proud of and can help them earn excellent livings. • A Morning Thought Big projects are important in terms of moving a company forward and staying ahead of the curve, but it's all the smaller tasks that are performed each and every day that are the heart and soul of an organization. Without them you couldn't deliver the consistent product your customers expect. The small things are no less important than the big things. In fact without the smaller things that make a company go, it wouldn't have the foundation nor the ability to invest its time and resources in growing and staying on the cutting edge. So next time you're doing a task that might feel menial or repetitive, remember it's the little things that makes everything else possible. Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs.?Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger.?If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.?- Dale Carnegie Have an awesome day! Dom?

  • A Morning Thought Each of us has unique talents and skills. None of us are good at everything, and certainly there is probably someone on your team that is better at something than you are. Look at that as a positive. Consider the alternative: If we didn't have someone on our team that was better at something than us, then who would be there to keep us out of trouble in areas where we are perhaps weak? By edifying and praising each other, we help make the whole team stronger. To edify is to "build up." You'll find this term in numerous books of the Bible. Even folks back then understood the value of building people up. It's a great thing that we probably all need to do more often. Make a point to praise and edify people whenever you can. You will be amazed at the results, and the change in others and in yourself. "A group becomes a team when all members are sure enough of themselves and their contributions to praise the skill of others." - Norman Shidle Have an edifying day! Dom

  • Did you know that the first U.S. president to ever address the nation’s need to meet the growing demand for economical clean energy was Richard Nixon back in 1973? It’s true. Much has changed since then and the fact is that consumers today remain interested in energy savings and home comfort. By testing and measuring entire #HVAC systems, #HighPerformanceHVAC contractors can show their customers how they can save energy dollars — whether through duct renovation, Air Upgrades, or equipment replacement. • A Morning Thought Providing service to others will always pay back in big dividends, sometimes financially, sometimes in terms of the blessings it brings to your life. Sometimes the rewards aren't immediate. The fruits of your service may not become apparent for years, but rest assured they are there. Sometimes they grow quietly, perhaps because you helped someone get a start or?helped them through a difficult time. You often will not know what the outcome of your service looks like. Often the most satisfaction comes from helping someone without anyone knowing it was you. These deeds count one hundred fold compared to a public display of assistance. Look for ways to sincerely and honestly help others without ulterior motives, and the rewards will far outweigh your efforts. "You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people to get what they want."- Zig Ziglar Have an incredible day! Dom?
