A Morning Thought There's an old saying, "you are what you eat." My corollary is, "you are what you read."?Is your reading made up solely of action/adventure or romance novels? Or do you also maintain a solid collection of books focused on helping you improve your life, your finances, your career? There's nothing wrong with some leisure reading in the mix, but be sure to fortify it with good brain nutrition and real substance from books that help you learn and grow. Don't read at all? It's never too late to start. Your life and your career will thank you for it. What's in your library? "Don't just read the easy stuff. You may be entertained by it, but you will never grow from it." - Jim Rohn Have an edifying day! Dom

The Industry Leader In Performance-Based Contracting?
关于我们
National Comfort Institute, Inc. (NCI) is a national training and membership organization created to help HVAC and building performance contractors transform their businesses, improve their bottom line and deliver outstanding service to their customers. We accomplish this by focusing on the delivery of true heating and cooling system performance in the systems our contractors design, sell, install, and service. This includes residential and light commercial forced air and hot water systems. We have termed this type of total system measurement "Performance-Based Contracting," and we believe it is the future of HVAC contracting. NCI’s System Performance & Air Balancing Courses have been attended by thousands of contractors and for many it has changed the way they do their everyday business. In this training contractors begin to understand how air pressure and air flow control true comfort. Additionally, NCI offers training and education in the areas of Carbon Monoxide Detection and Combustion Analysis. Our CO/combustion courses have been known to “totally change the way a contractor thinks about carbon monoxide” and to dispel many myths and preconceived notions about what are acceptable levels of CO and how to prevent CO poisoning from occurring in the home or office. National Comfort Institute is much more than training. We provide a variety of support services for HVAC Contractors and Building Performance Professionals. Check out our website to learn more. www.nationalcomfortinstitute.com, or to learn about Performance Based Contracting visit WhyPBC.com.

A Morning Thought If each and every day you improved just one small thing in how you approach your work, in just 30 days you would see amazing changes. In 6 months you'll find yourself working at a completely different level, and in one year, who knows? The important thing is to be on a continuous improvement path. Don't settle for the status quo. Always look for ways to make things more efficient, better, less expensive,?even if each change is just a tiny tweak, a tiny improvement. You will be surprised at the results. "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten." - Tony Robbins Have a great new day! Dom

Blower doors measure total air leakage from a house and help to locate leaks within the building envelope. When used in conjunction with a load calculation, HVAC technicians can really begin to solve customer comfort and energy issues. Learn more about blower door applications and when to use them in Steve Roger’s March 2025 article in @HVACToday. Just go to https://ow.ly/slwT50VcKph.

A Morning Thought Sometimes it's hard to have a positive attitude. Maybe you're having personal difficulties at home that are weighing heavy on you, and it's hard to keep them out of your mind while at work. Perhaps you're not feeling good about a project you're working on, feeling overwhelm, or are just having a bad day. Whatever the reason, negative thoughts do nothing to help you get out of a rut, nor do they help you solve whatever issues or problems are rattling around in your brain. Positive thoughts, on the other hand, have a way of turning things around, sometimes quickly, and sometimes a tiny bit at a time. Oftentimes forcing yourself to think positively even when things seem pretty bad has a way of leading to more positive thoughts. Quite often, before you know it, they will lead you out of your negative thinking and make whatever was bothering you seem surmountable. Does this work all the time? Of course not! But even if it works 50% of the time, you're significantly increasing your chances of turning your day around. "A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes." - Mahatma Gandhi Have a Positively Great Day! Dom

A Morning Thought Sometimes when we face a problem, we look at it from the wrong angle, and beat our heads against the wall trying to get through it. But sometimes, if we look?at the same problem from a different viewpoint, the solution jumps right in front of us as if it was always there. The best way to get out of a wrong thinking loop is to take a step back, shake it off, and just try looking at it from a bunch of different angles, even if some seem silly, or even ridiculous. Sometimes that’s all it takes to get your creative juices flowing. “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” - Albert Einstein Have a creative day! Dom

A Morning Thought It’s human nature to feel fear when confronted with the unfamiliar. Trepidation or fear are not emotions most of us can teach ourselves not to feel. It’s what we do to deal with, and overcome that fear that we can control. Once you accept that you will feel some level of fear when attempting something new, you can begin to address it and diminish its effect on your success in reaching your goal. “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear.” - ?Mark Twain Have a courageous day! If you’re an #HVAC contractor who wants to stand out in today’s market, there’s no better way than by embracing load calculations. In this March 2025 @HVACToday article, these contractors explain why you should invest in the right tools, train your team, and educate your customers. It’s not just about selling systems — it’s about delivering actual performance. That’s what makes companies like Basnett Plumbing, Heating, AC & Electrical #highperformanceHVAC contractors, and that’s why they do what they do. Find out more here: https://ow.ly/36tY50VbMNE.

A Morning Thought Without action nothing gets done. The key is not taking an action for the sake of action, but taking inspired action that fits into your bigger picture goals. Many people stay “busy” all day, but don’t really get a lot accomplished. The difference between being busy and taking inspired action is great. You rarely feel flustered or overwhelmed when you are taking action based on a strong desire to reach your goals. But it’s easy to feel frustrated and frantic when you are just doing things in order to show you are doing something. “Action is the foundational key to all success” - Pablo Picasso Have an inspired day! What is an #HVAC system? Though that question seems daft, according to @Team_NCI’s Adam Mufich in his March 2025 @HVACToday article, the industry has always focused on equipment versus everything else that equipment is attached to. He explains how “system performance” must consider more than just boxes: it must include ductwork, airflow, and the interaction between conditioned air and the building envelope. Do you want to learn more? Good. Check out Adam’s article here: https://ow.ly/lzhB50VcFGR.
