ver the last 10 days, we have been amazed by the mobilization and outpouring of support from friends, local businesses, and those far beyond our state. As the work has transitioned over the weekend from immediate crisis rescues to re-focus on recovery and longer term planning, we have pulled back our engagement as various teams have become more established in the area. With that in mind, the recovery of western North Carolina will take years. There will be opportunities in the coming months that we will engage in at both a personal and team level. Many of you have asked what organizations we could recommend for support and involvement. We have put together a list below: ? Aerial Recovery is continuing their on the ground work. They are accepting financial donations to support their work. When not responding to support disasters, they are working to support our veterans through their Healing Our Hero’s branch. ? Wine to Water is an international non-profit that has volunteer & financial support opportunities with their team in WNC that is working to provide clean, potable water to those who need it the most. ? No Women, No Girl is a triangle based nonprofit that has volunteer and donation opportunities in the Raleigh area. They focus on supporting women and girls during the vulnerable stages related to being uprooted or transitioning between home places. ? Samaritan’s Purse is an international organization focused on serving those in need in disaster areas. They have been a key part in organizing donation logistics and establishing volunteer hubs from the Sandhills to the Mountains in the last week. ? ? Give Blood! One donation can save 3 lives! @Triangle Shooting Academy has a blood drive this Saturday, October 12, 2024 with TheBloodConnection.
