The National Coalition Against Censorship is dedicated to defending freedom of thought, inquiry and expression. NCAC supports students, artists, educators, curators, creators, writers, protestors and activists. We advocate for a multiplicity of voices in the public and cultural spheres as the foundation of a healthy democracy. Our work includes education, advocacy, guidance and incident intervention at national, state and community levels. The most evil villains aren't in books. They're the ones trying to ban them. Extremely proud to share INNOCEAN USA's latest work for the National Coalition Against Censorship, "Villains Against Evil", which features iconic storybook villains speaking out against an evil even greater than them: Interest Groups and Politicians attempting to ban books. Last year, The American Library Association saw a?65% increase?in the number of children’s books being challenged and banned across the U.S., with many of these banned books featuring topics such as LGBTQI+ health and education, racial disparities, politics, and religion.
