Energizing to be in a room full of leaders (almost 600!) who want to become better leaders. Grateful to The High Center and Michael Mitchell for the opportunity to spend the day learning about the importance of having the right mindset to move through failure to success. Two big takeaways: 1. Timely, fair, and accurate informal feedback is the most powerful lever for improved team performance. The key is to say it so they can hear it, which involves timing, delivery mechanism, level of detail, role of emotions, and the individual's preferred balance of praise and criticism. 2. There's no version of life that isn't risky. So think about, "What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?" Then do it. You'll either win or learn how to win the next time.
