  • We're excited to share an update on the Brownfields Redevelopment Tax Incentive Reauthorization Act of 2023! This bipartisan bill, reintroduced last November by Representatives Sherrill (NJ-11) and Turner (OH-10), revives a once longstanding incentive that would allow developers to fully deduct their cleanup expenses on contaminated property in the year the costs were incurred. Brownfields redevelopment is a well-established bipartisan issue given the environmental, economic, and social benefits of revitalizing vacant and contaminated land, ushering in public health, equity, and economic development gains. This piece of legislation offers tremendous potential to increase investment in brownfields redevelopment. This bill is the coalition’s current top legislative priority given its potential to significantly accelerate brownfields redevelopment. Our advocacy campaign has resulted in hundreds of letters to Congress, official support from 35 organizations, and 12 Congressional co-sponsors to date! We are scheduling meetings with members of the House to urge their co-sponsorship and are encouraging Senators to introduce the bill in the Senate.? We need your continued support to keep the momentum going! Tell your representatives to support or cosponsor the H.R 6438 ? https://lnkd.in/gqM8bZmw
