Great Expectations is Growing! NBP's Great Expectations program brings picture books to life for blind children through picture descriptions, tactile tools and free online activities, all surrounding a chosen theme, from money or measurment to architecture or emotions. We're celebrating the latest addition to the program, The Snail and The Whale, with a special event at the Watertown Public Library in Watertown, Mass! Have a whale of a time as a braille reader reads this charming book aloud on March 29th from 10am-noon! Make your own snail to take home, grab some ocean-themed snacks, and meet others who support our mission to bring picture books to life for blind kids! This month NBP will be turning 98 (!!!) and we're hosting our fifth annual Braille Across America Virtual Challenge beginning on our birthday on March 17th! Sign up today as an individual, join a team or create your own as we spread the importance of braille from coast to coast! This year especially, as paper costs have risen by 20%, we need your help to ensure our customers get the best quality braille at the fairest cost.
