At the National Blood Clot Alliance, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the growing impact of our Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Centers of Excellence (COE) program. This initiative establishes a network of leading institutions nationwide, setting the bar for excellence in blood clot prevention, treatment, and patient-centered care. "Our Centers of Excellence are more than just top-tier medical institutions—they are hubs of innovation, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to patient safety," says Erin VanDyke, PA-C, Vice President of NBCA’s COE program. "What makes this program unique is its multidisciplinary approach—bringing together experts across specialties to not only treat VTE but also drive prevention, education, and community engagement. This ensures that every patient receives the highest standard of care at every stage of their journey.” We applaud the many institutions that have stepped forward to pursue this prestigious designation and eagerly anticipate announcing our newest COEs. They will join NBCA’s inaugural COE, Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital, in leading the charge toward better blood clot awareness, treatment, and outcomes. As we celebrate Patient Safety Awareness Week, we invite you to learn more about our COE program and the incredible impact of collaboration between patients, clinicians, and communities in shaping the future of VTE care!
