Are you an elementary or middle school educator? Now is the perfect time to explore Black baseball history with our School Resource Kits! Developed as part of the Museum's Black Baseball Initiative, the materials in the kit support the delivery of the Museum's Civil Rights History curriculum in a classroom setting, featuring books, Library and Archive collection facsimiles, school supplies, printed material and lesson plans, virtual resources and a 3-D replica artifact. Public elementary and middle schools are encouraged to request a School Resource Kit at no cost. The Museum’s Education Department Team will review all requests, and priority will be given to Title I schools. The Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC) has honored the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Distance Learning program as one of its 2023-24 Pinnacle Award winners. Coordinated through the Museum’s Education Department, the Hall of Fame offers virtual field trips for students in grades kindergarten through 12 that provide interactive and meaningful learning experiences that align with national learning standards without leaving their classroom. As the baseball world focuses on upstate New York for Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, MLB players throughout the country will be wearing Cooperstown colors. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum partnered with Major League Baseball (MLB) to celebrate the nonprofit’s 85th anniversary by featuring the iconic red, white and blue Hall of Fame logo on the right-hand side of players’ caps during Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s games. “As the Class of 2024 is honored in Cooperstown and the Museum celebrates its 85th?birthday, it is fitting that the legends of tomorrow will be a part of history today with this first-of-its-kind cap,” said Josh Rawitch, President of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The caps were made by New Era Cap, the Official On-Field Cap of MLB, and are available at the Hall of Fame website store now ahead of the celebration of 2024 Hall of Fame inductees Adrian Beltré, Todd Helton, Jim Leyland and Joe Mauer. Kim Ng has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, bringing the total number of directors to 17 for the nonprofit educational institution. “We are so happy to welcome Kim Ng to the Museum’s Board of Directors,” said Jane Forbes Clark, Chairman of the Board of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. “She has brought knowledge and passion to the game throughout three decades as one of baseball’s most respected executives.
