Proud to be a part of today's groundbreaking of Johnson & Johnson's new $2 billion+ facility in Wilson, North Carolina. ? There’s no greater champion for manufacturers in America than NAM Board Chair and J&J Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Operations & Risk Officer Kathryn Wengel, and it was great to join Kathy, Governor Josh Stein, state leaders and the exceptional J&J team for such an important event. ? Days like today do not happen overnight. Manufacturing—especially biopharmaceutical manufacturing—requires years of planning, ingenuity and investment decisions. ? This groundbreaking is part of J&J's announcement to invest more than $55 billion in the next four years, building upon investments J&J has already made thanks to the 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act. These kinds of historic investments are why it is critical that pro-growth provisions of the 2017 tax law be made permanent and more competitive. If Congress fails to act, 6 million American jobs—184,000 in North Carolina—will be wiped out. We can’t let that happen. ? If we want to see more meaningful manufacturing investments, we need competitive tax policy, balanced regulations, prompt permitting, abundant energy and smart trade policies. ? And when #ManufacturingWins, America wins. ? Thank you, Johnson & Johnson, for your commitment to this community and to a healthier, more prosperous nation.
