The National Association of Broadcasters is the voice for the nation’s radio and television broadcasters. As the premier trade association for broadcasters, NAB advances the interests of our members in federal government, industry and public affairs; improves the quality and profitability of broadcasting; encourages content and technology innovation; and spotlights the important and unique ways stations serve their communities. NAB delivers value to our members through advocacy, education and innovation. Advocacy NAB is the chief advocate of broadcasters in our nation’s capital, ensuring policymakers are informed on the issues that impact the broadcasting industry. The association relies on the grassroots strength of its television and radio members and state broadcast associations. Broadcasters recognize the importance of educating Congress, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the administration on how legislation and regulations affect their business, and more importantly, the listening and viewing public. Innovation Whether it’s the new possibilities created by mobile digital television or FM-enabled mobile devices, NAB is helping broadcasters seize opportunities in the digital age. Advances in technology are giving broadcasters opportunities to find better, more innovative ways to deliver the high-quality content and services that local communities expect and deserve. Education From providing free public service materials to assist in implementing locally focused community service initiatives, to offering a number of programs through the NAB Education Foundation to support diversity, leadership and professional development, NAB offers broadcasters a variety of programs to help them grow in their careers, promote diversity in the workplace and strengthen their businesses.

It was great to be back in New England and join television and radio broadcasters from across Massachusetts at the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association's annual Sound Bites conference! From AM radio and AI legislation to regulatory reforms that level the playing field with big tech and enable investment in local newsrooms, I enjoyed the opportunity to discuss what is on the horizon for broadcasters during the lame duck period and 2025 during a fireside chat with Jordan Walton. ? Special congratulations are in order for Joe Castiglione, legendary Boston Red Sox announcer, who was named Broadcaster of the Year. Congratulations also to all of the outstanding stations who were recognized for their extraordinary work and service through the year. I am also grateful to Jordan, Kyle Grimes and all members of the MBA board of directors?for recognizing me with their Broadcast Champion award as a result of the tremendous advocacy of our National Association of Broadcasters team. #wearebroadcasters

NAB’s annual “Day of Service” is one of my favorite traditions because it gives us the opportunity to step away from the office as a team and give back to the D.C. community. As an organization that represents members committed to locally-focused public service, these efforts are extra meaningful. This year NAB staff volunteered with Food & Friends, a nonprofit organization that provides?nutritionally tailored, home-delivered meals to people facing a life-challenging health crisis. Congratulations to Deborah Parenti and the teams at Radio Ink Magazine and Radio + TV Business Report on a great Forecast 2025 event in NYC. I was honored to join veteran reporter Steven Portnoy, David Sable and Lou Paskalis to discuss our advocacy to enable vibrant local broadcast newsrooms, the importance of our trusted fact-based journalism to policymakers and advertisers, and the opportunities that lie ahead in 2025. Kudos also to Erica Farber and Leo MacCourtney who were honored with Lifetime Leadership Awards, and to all of the newly enshrined “Giants of Broadcasting” who were also honored this week by the The Library of American Broadcasting - Patsy Smullin, Wendy McMahon, Mike McVay, Steve Jones, Stephen A.
