关于我们
The National Alliance to End Homelessness is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to end homelessness in the United States. We use research and data to find solutions to homelessness; we work with federal and local partners to create a solid base of policy and resources that support those solutions; and then we help communities implement them. Our strength is that we are an outcome-driven organization. Starting with our name and continuing with how we choose the work we do, allocate staff time, and use our resources, we focus on one thing: ending homelessness. The Homelessness Research Institute at the National Alliance to End Homelessness works to end homelessness by building and disseminating knowledge that drives policy change.

This week, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness announced historic reductions in veteran homelessness, bringing it to the lowest levels in the history of HUD's record keeping. The Alliance applauds all of the federal partners, system leaders, and providers who contributed to this incredible achievement. “The secret to this decrease is not a mystery,” said Ann Oliva, CEO of the National Alliance to End Homelessness. “Ending homelessness comes down to three things: using person-centered and evidence-based policy and program design, providing key resources at a scale necessary to get the job done, and showing the leadership and public will to keep a long-term commitment to our goals. Our leaders have honored that commitment to veterans; it is now time for them to honor it for the rest of the nation.” https://buff.ly/3Co0WtY

“[Just] because we are in a shelter that [doesn’t] mean that we cannot go and vote, that we don’t know what we’re doing,” Alex Figueroa said. “I’m gonna vote because I know that they need my vote.” https://lnkd.in/ev9dwwXN

"Mary Frances Kenion, MPA, the vice president of Training and Technical Assistance of the National Alliance to End Homelessness, believes the field needs to prioritize taking a proactive approach rather than a reactive approach to natural disasters. 'As we are grappling with climate change, I think that communities everywhere have to make a commitment to planning for people experiencing homelessness in the context of a disaster preparedness response and recovery framework on an ongoing basis, because we literally never know when the next disaster is going to hit and be catastrophic,' she said. https://lnkd.in/eA5txKPF
