In February, we announced the finalists for the 2024 NAA Robert J. Collier Trophy. Today, we want to highlight one of the finalists: the Blue Condor Project (Perlan Project), which is recognized for "opening the door to a future of zero-carbon emission turbine aircraft and documenting hydrogen contrails that may have significant positive impacts on the climate." The Blue Condor Project is a collaboration between the Perlan Project and Airbus, focusing on testing hydrogen-powered aviation at high altitudes. The goal is to compare emissions from hydrogen fuel with those from traditional jet fuel under extreme conditions. Congratulations to The Perlan Project for being a finalist. Since 1911, the coveted Collier Trophy has been presented annually for “the greatest achievement in aeronautics or astronautics in America with respect to improving the performance, efficiency, and safety of air or space vehicles, the value of which has been thoroughly demonstrated by actual use during the preceding year.” The final round of the Collier Selection will occur on March 20th in Washington, DC. Each group will present its nomination to the Collier Selection Committee, which comprises the NAA Board of Directors and select industry leaders with diverse aviation backgrounds. The Collier Trophy recipient will be presented in Washington, DC, on June 12, 2025. https://zurl.co/7iU1Y

关于我们
The National Aeronautic Association (NAA) is the oldest national aviation organization in the United States. A non-profit association, NAA is "dedicated to the advancement of the art, sport and science of aviation in the United States,” according to its Mission Statement. The core of the organization is its members; thousands of individuals, organizations, and corporations representing all segments of American aviation. NAA encompasses all areas of flight from skydiving and models to commercial airlines, military aircraft, and spaceflight. NAA is the official record-keeper for United States aviation. Recognized, official records are set through our Contest & Records department. NAA provides observers for many record attempts and compiles the data necessary to certify aviation and spaceflight records of all kinds. Some of the nation’s most prestigious aviation awards are administered by NAA, including the Collier Trophy and the Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy. The Awards & Events department collects nominations and assembles committees to select winners of America's most important aviation awards annually, presenting them at ceremonies and events throughout the year.
