About 4-H: In 4-H, we believe in the power of young people. We see that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us. We are America’s largest youth development organization—empowering nearly six million young people across the U.S. with the skills to lead for a lifetime. The 4-H Experience: 4-H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. Kids complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and citizenship, in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. ?? Discovering His Spark: Ronak’s 4-H Journey ?? Ronak Suchindra’s 4-H journey began nine years ago, and it’s been nothing short of extraordinary. At a 4-H Scratch workshop, he discovered his passion for STEM while solving a coding challenge and leading his peers to success. That moment marked the start of a remarkable path. Since then, Ronak has become a leader, excelling in competitive robotics at the state and national levels and earning the prestigious Pennsylvania 4-H Diamond Clover Award. During the pandemic, he founded Kids Connect, a platform that reached over 3,000 students worldwide with 50+ STEM workshops, inspiring a new generation of learners and innovators. Through his leadership and volunteer efforts—from organizing charity events to empowering youth through STEM education—Ronak exemplifies the true spirit of 4-H. ???? Meet Katie Culbert, founder of Ocean County’s first 4-H beekeeping club and a leader in environmental education. Starting with the 4-H Busy Bees Beekeeping Club, Katie’s passion for pollinators grew into action—creating a 2,500 sq. ft. pollinator garden, delivering community presentations, and earning grants to promote sustainability. As National 4-H Pollinator Week Ambassador and 2023 NJ Honey Queen, Katie organized events and honey harvests, while her research on native plants earned publication in Harvard’s Journal of Emerging Investigators. Her legislative initiative, “Parks, Plants, and Pollinators,” secures funding to support native planting in NJ parks. Recognized with prestigious awards like the NJ Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence, Katie inspires others through her YouTube channel, Katie’s Adventures in Beekeeping, and Instagram.
