How do you feel about your work? Are you an expert? “Experts make predictions. They use examples from the public domain. They're unafraid to make a point, and they aren't seeking "likes" or followers on social media or affection. How do you stack up?” ~ Alan Weiss

Applying Best Practices and Workplace Violence Prevention. When it comes to Workplace Violence Prevention leaders must look to establish strategy and process that promotes positivity towards #workplaceviolenceprevention. “Strategic success does not come from applying a cookie-cutter approach where a best practice is transposed from one organizational context to another.” ~ Roy Osing Workplace Violence Prevention should not be an independent initiative but an organizational commitment and investment in creating & maintaining safe work environments through C-suite Leadership and employee involvement. It should be customized as in organizational & workplace specific avoiding other’s best practices. “When it comes to untangling more complicated issues like #workplaceviolence; however, best practices like common sense are not sufficient. Cause and effect, the nature of evidence, and statistical frequency are far more intricate than common sense can handle”. ~Felix Nater It is about "Creating a Culture of Safety and Security through strategy, process, accountability. responsibility, and proactive recognition of consequences impacting people, performance, production and participation and education. Accountability that recognizes the failure of negligence and malfeasance. Violence prevention effectiveness must grow from within organizations by leaders who set positive example, and positive leadership. It isn’t mandated, it is demonstrated leadership. It is the workforce seeing the organization “walk the walk and talk the talk”. People caring about people. Leaders that believe security technology without human intervention and swift interdiction are ingredients for a failed workplace violence prevention program. Training must go beyond annual training but training that has impact and reinforces the prevention process. Process is a vital part of an organizational commitment that shows people how to maximize their collaborative value. Workplace Violence Prevention starts and cycles through a process. In closing, the approach to Workplace Violence Prevention must be comprehensive, practical and customizable in addressing the threat of workplace violence consistent with the OSHA four categories of workplace violence. Preventing the threat posed by the disgruntled employee before the transition to thoughts of active shooter is a function of quality leadership, policy, plans and supportive quality training. Such an approach breaks away from cookie-cutter type best practice measures that consistently rely on post incident risk abatement measures rather that prevention. It offers organizations a baseline of internal/external knowledge sufficient to initiate and maintain a program of their own to combat the threat of violence. The Nater Model (Violence Interdiction Model) Workpkace Security & Workplace Violence Prevention Consulting To many an oxymoron in many workplace vernaculars, Workplace Violence Prevention is a reality requiring ongoing attention and senior management commitment and investment in workplace and workforce safety and security. The article written in 2011 and published by Security Magazine represented a consulting philosophy to integrate Leaders and Key Team Players in understanding and managing their workplace violence prevention policy, strategy and program long after Nater Associates Ltd completed the project. Check it out and give me your thoughts. The graphic will not appear as being fully explained. I encourage your ideas. https://bit.ly/2tXFnLJ

To All #SecurityDirectors, #HRDirectors #SafetyDirectors #ComplianceDirectors #RiskManagers What is the value of workplace violence prevention? #TIP_WPVP 62: When #workplaceviolenceprevention policy is not connected to prevention strategies, and quality training is non-existent, prevention results will be faulty, and open to scrutiny. https://t.co/YEcFl1bJ7L #CEO #LaborLawAttorneys

My Thoughts On Success… I believe that success is the result of intelligent effort, and does not depend upon luck or sharp practices, or double-crossing friends, fellow men, or my prospects. It is about courage. Independent thinking, respectful communications. I believe I will get out of life exactly what I put into it; therefore, I will be careful to conduct myself towards others as I would want them to act toward me. I expect them to be open with me without fear of doing so. I will not slander those whom I do not like. I will not slight my work no matter what I may see others doing. I will never sell my efforts short nor accept compensation just because. Instead, I will make myself attractive and appealing but never patronizing. I will render the best service of which I am capable because I have pledged myself to succeed in life, and I know that success is always the result of conscientious and efficient effort. Finally. I will forgive those who offend me because I realize that I shall sometimes offend others and I will need their forgiveness.
