Check out NDLSA's Director of Law School Relations, Katie Allee, moderate this critical panel TODAY at 3pm ET/12pm PT!
Tune in on MONDAY, October 28, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. ET for our #free webinar with the ABA Commission on Disability Rights - Disability and Intersectionality: Lawyers Share Their Experience. Many people with disabilities are members of additional marginalized communities, living at the intersection of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and religion. These multiple identities shape their experiences and combine to create intersecting forms of oppression (e.g., ableism, sexism, racism), discrimination, and privilege. In this webinar, lawyers with disabilities with multiple identities share their experiences in the legal profession, addressing how their multiple identities have shaped their advocacy for justice and equality for all, benefited their lawyer-client relationships, created allyship with lawyers from other marginalized communities, and resulted in unique challenges and barriers in the profession. Speakers: - Elizabeth B. (Beth) Davis – Partner, Arnall Golden Gregory LLP - GeWaden Dunkley – Staff Attorney, Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid - Disability Law Center? - Salomon Chiquiar-Rabinovich – Chair, Attorneys with Disabilities and their Allies Section, Hispanic National Bar Association; Founder, Salomon Chiquiar- Rabinovich Esq LLC Moderator: - Katie Allee – Director of Law School Relations, National Disabled Law Students Association Register HERE: https://lnkd.in/gCv_2zKz?
