?? Tariff Updates & What They Mean for the Trailer Industry ?? Here is the latest round of tariffs will disrupt supply chains, manufacturing, and pricing across the trailer industry. Here’s what you need to know: ? China: 20% tariff on ALL imports ? Canada & Mexico: 25% tariff - Products qualifying under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) are temporarily exempt until April 2, 2025. ? Steel & Aluminum: Total tariff max of 25% (including above) ? Reciprocal Tariffs: Any country imposing tariffs on the U.S. faces a 4/2 retaliation ? Retaliation Tariffs: Canada and China have announced retaliation plans ?? What Can Businesses Do? Know Your Supply Chain – Where are your goods coming from? Check HTS Codes – Ensure proper classification for imports & exports Review Contracts – How will these tariffs affect pricing & agreements? Explore Alternative Suppliers – Look for non-tariffed sources to reduce costs Be Vocal - Write your local US representatives and let them know how this affects business Bottom line: Planning ahead is crucial.
