Several mission moments today when we were called on by Metro Nashville Public Schools to present a master class on a cappella singing at James Lawson High School to 40 students at the MNPS Summer Choir Clinic. The students were in 4th to 12th grade. They had a great time, and we did too. The young singers listened attentively, asked great questions, and made some astute observations. We also sang a few barbershop tags together. Kudos to music educator Tyler Merideth and his team of educators, and to Franklin J. Willis for recommending us.

The Nashville Singers celebrate the power of the human voice to educate, unite, enrich, and inspire, by performing an ever-widening repertoire of choral music at the highest artistic level for a broad community of audiences. Funding for and focus on the performing arts is at an all-time low. Wanting to make a difference, the Nashville Singers organization was founded in November of 2008 with a mission to enrich lives through singing and the support of music education. This male chorus of a dozen volunteer singers raises funds to support music education and fulfills this mission by presenting master classes on the art of a cappella singing to middle and high school students and vocal performance clinics to adults. Through self-produced concert events, community outreach performances at schools (community and private) home school associations, universities, nonprofits, churches, senior centers retirement homes, civic clubs, chambers of commerce, sporting events, and corporate engagements, performances and programs of the Nashville Singers have touched the lives of over 50,000 people since the summer of 2009. In addition, the Nashville Singers have awarded $15,000 in music education grants and scholarships in the last five years, impacting hundreds of students in Middle Tennessee and beyond. Each year, the Nashville Singers also recognize an outstanding music educator by presenting the annual Carol Crittenden Arts Advocate of the Year Award. The hallmark of our success has been careful planning, innovative and visionary thinking, hard work, and a commitment to our mission to enrich lives through singing and the support of music education. Fulfilling our vision will require a significant infusion of financial resources. Nashville Singers celebrated for enriching lives through singing and the support of music education across Middle Tennessee for 15 years The Mayor of Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Freddie O'Connell has issued a proclamation recognizing December 3-9, 2023 as Nashville Singers Week and December 9, 2023 as Nashville Singers Day. We will be celebrating this recognition by presenting our popular Season of Harmony a cappella holiday concert at 3:00pm on December 9, 2023. This year's concert event will be held at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ - 5120 Franklin Pike in Nashville. Tickets are $10 ordered in advance or $15 if purchased at the door.
