We are honored to be named in Nashville Scene's Best of Nashville Writers' Choice for Best Dance Season! This recognition highlights the incredible work of our artists and the bold programming of Artistic Director and CEO Nick Mullikin, featuring a dynamic blend of contemporary creations and beloved classics. From Year of the Rabbit to Romeo and Juliet, it was a season to remember, and we are grateful for the continued support of our community.

Nashville Ballet will kick off our 39th Season tonight with the return of Paul Vasterling's Dracula paired with George Balanchine's Serenade. "We are thrilled to kick off our season productions with the illustrious?Dracula,?rich with mystery and intrigue, alongside the beauty of?Serenade,"?says Nick Mullikin, Artistic Director & CEO.?“As we present these two performances, weaving together beautifully contrasting storylines, we also celebrate the depth and growth of Nashville Ballet, inviting audiences to experience the vibrant future of dance in our community."

Nashville Ballet was honored to be part of the first-ever CreArte Fest this weekend! We shared a sneak peek of our upcoming world premiere, Dia de los Muertos, and our Teaching Artist Shabaz Ujima led the community through a movement workshop that explored self and culture through the power of dance. As proud sponsors, we were thrilled to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and connect with the community through the power of art and dance.

Nashville Ballet is excited to welcome three esteemed community members—Crystal Churchwell Evans, Monica Cintado-Scokin, and Rhea Heath—to our Board of Directors for the 2024-25 Season. Each brings a wealth of experience and passion, further enriching our organization as we continue to elevate the artistic and cultural landscape of Nashville. As we approach our 40th Season in 2025, we are grateful for the dedication of all our board members who help drive Nashville Ballet’s mission and vision. ??? #fridayfilmbreak: Nashville Ballet and the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum collaborated to celebrate the centennial of the late American musician Chet Atkins with an original dance film, set to Atkins’ recording of Fats Waller’s “Jitterbug Waltz,” choreographed and co-directed by Nashville Ballet artistic director Nick Mullikin, and set in the museum’s Hall of Fame rotunda. The film brings two characters to life from Thomas Hart Benton’s mural “The Sources of Country Music,” which depicts the diverse musicians who have shaped country music. Nashville Ballet’s Shaiya Donohue and Cassandra Thoms wear costumes similar to two dancers in the painting as they glide through the rotunda.
