Let us re-introduce ourselves. The NRPC Foundation is a non-profit organization formed in 2020 to mobilize philanthropic and private-sector resources to support the Nashua Regional Planning Commission’s (NRPC’s) important planning work. We believe that individuals and organizations have a greater impact through collaborative efforts. The NRPC Foundation combines financial resources with NRPC’s expertise to support land use planning, transportation, economic development, information technology, public health, protection of natural resources, arts and culture, and community education for the benefit of the NRPC service area. Your support improves the quality of life in the region. This year, thanks to our donors, we’ve been able to help NRPC launch a pilot program to increase wheelchair-accessible transportation services to elderly, disabled individuals in the Nashua Region. GivingTuesday is December 3rd, we invite you to support the NRPC Foundation's community and regional collaborative planning initiatives. Together, we will help usher in sound growth in the Nashua Region! Join with us - Sound Growth Through Collaboration ?? https://lnkd.in/edVHPtgG

Today marks the 25th anniversary of GIS Day across the globe!?GIS is in the hands of more people than ever people, as more than 95 percent of universities offer a GIS course or program and navigation and online maps are familiar to almost everyone.?NRPC is celebrating by reconvening our regional user group meeting for the users, consumers, or just GIS-curious among us. November is a big month for the GIS team at NRPC as well as anyone with a love for geography.?The 18th?marked the start of Geography Awareness Week.?Started in 1986 by the National Geographic Society and made official by Presidential proclamation a year later, the week aims to increase awareness about the important relationship between people and places and enhance the teaching of geography in schools. The American Association of Geographers have some fantastic materials on their website?for becoming a partner or advocate of the program, or just to have some fun by exploring the world around us. Finally, earlier this month Ryan and Emilie attended the annual NEARC (Northeaster Arc Users Group) conference in Burlington, VT and heard about what our GIS peers are doing across the region, as well as what's new and upcoming in the world of the GIS and GPS products that we use every day.?Ask us about anything from conservation cemeteries to getting your GISP certification!

October, as Community Transportation Month, may be almost over, but today we are putting a new focus on youth transportation! On October 17th, students from Clearway High School were given the opportunity to learn about the Nashua Transit System with NTS staff on their own field trip to Nashua Community College. Establishing transportation connections and making them more accessible by providing this kind of learning opportunity is crucial to ensure that great programs and services like those at NCC can reach as many people as possible by breaking down transportation barriers. Small collaborations and outreach like this can enable young people like Clearway students to visualize what their future success can look like and how they can reach it – and it can start with one ride on a blue bus.
