Tennessee faces a 58,000-worker shortage, and nearly a quarter of in-demand jobs require some college education or credentials. A new policy brief from ThinkTennessee and the Tennessee Skills Coalition highlights key improvements to Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect that would help more students gain the skills needed for better job opportunities and higher wages. It was an insightful morning at Chamber North with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce getting to hear the latest workforce data coming out of Nashville and the North Nashville area. Following, we got to listen to a panel of community organizations outlining the benefits of strategic community partners and how those partnerships can positively impact employers. I am grateful for the opportunities Persevere has had to collaborate and partner with some of these awesome organizations like Urban League of Middle Tennessee and UpRise Nashville. Wonderful job to all the panelists and as always, a great event hosted by The Chamber!
