As the North American SEM Collaborative continues the transition to our chapter model, we're thrilled to share the outcomes of our recent joint leadership meeting between the NW and NA SEMC teams, held on September 4, 2024. This collaboration is crucial as we leverage the NW's extensive experience to enhance SEM offerings and improve effectiveness across regions.
?
KEY HIGHLIGHTS from the Meeting:
Transition Progress:? We reviewed the mission statements of both NW and NA Collaboratives, focusing on aligning our goals for a seamless transition. The transition plan is nearing completion. It’s been quite a journey since the NA and NW signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) initiating this transition in 2023.
Working Groups:? A draft charter for the newly formed Working Group Committee has been developed, emphasizing inclusivity. Anyone can participate in working groups, though leadership is reserved for NA members.
Chapter Model:? We discussed the development of the structure for chapters that is reflected in the draft chapter agreement. This includes guidelines for leadership, membership, and meetings/events, ensuring robust participation and governance.
Fall Workshops:? The NW will continue to lead planning for the Fall Workshops, with NA taking over administration in 2025. This transition will ensure continuity and growth in our educational offerings.
FUTURE STEPS:
Chapter structure: We are working on finalizing the chapter agreement, chapter guidelines and chapter leadership structures.
Call for nominations starting next month:? Watch for NA Member survey and nomination information for NA and Chapter Leadership that will be released to gather feedback and diversify leadership.?Start thinking about who you would like to see in a leadership position for our community!
?
We are excited about the opportunities for cross-regional collaboration and the growth of our SEM community.
