Nascent actively participated in the Battery Summer School 2024, organized by the Advanced Batteries Center Philippines, from May 20 to 24, 2024. The event gathered over 50 participants from industry, academia, and research institutions. Nascent team members delivered presentations on topics such as Density Functional Theory (DFT), multi-physics, and material characterization techniques in battery research, alongside the latest advancements in battery technology. Additionally, Nascent co-sponsored the event, supporting workshops and interactive sessions that provided valuable learning opportunities for attendees, including new hires from our Electrochemistry Division. We are excited to share that Nascent has achieved another milestone with the publication of our first research paper in the Journal of Energy Storage (IF: 9.4). Our study, titled "Energy, Power, and Cost Optimization of a Sodium-Ion Battery Pack via a Combined Physics-Based and Cost Modeling Approach," discusses the optimization of sodium-ion batteries--a promising alternative to lithium-ion batteries. In addition to our expanding team, we have an ongoing R&D outsourcing contract and several active partnerships, here and abroad. These collaborations are essential in driving forward our research and development efforts, ensuring we stay at the forefront of battery technology advancements.
