One of my favorite memories at Nascent was our annual holiday party last year. It’s a time when we all came together, enjoyed good food, and had a lot of fun. What does a typical day look like for you? My typical workday begins with me checking and responding to emails. After that, I meet with my team to discuss our daily priorities. Throughout the day, I monitor accounts, create invoices for customers, ensure payments and cash receipts are accurately recorded, and assist with ongoing departmental projects. Favorite part of the job? One aspect of my job that I truly appreciate is the flexibility provided by Nascent. It allows me to balance work and personal life effectively, contributing to my overall job satisfaction. What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking for a job at NASCENT? One piece of advice I would give for anyone looking for a job at Nascent would be to remain open to process improvement. Demonstrating a willingness to adapt, learn, and optimize workflows can make you a very valuable candidate.

I have been at Nascent a little over 2 years now. Favorite memory at NASCENT? Some of the fun times outside of our normal work that you can have working with good people. What does a typical day look like for you? Usually I start off by catching myself up on where I left off the day before and making sure my time estimates are up to date before our Agile Stand Up meeting. And then it's off to whatever I'm working on whether it's coding, researching an issue, getting something setup, or occasionally something else. There is enough variety of things going on at Nascent that the typical day is not the same old thing day after day. Favorite part of the job? Resolving issues and accomplishing something through code that many people can benefit from - why I got into development. What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking for a job at NASCENT? I would say to embrace the excitement - and challenge - of doing something different than what you may have done before.

Since 01/21 so a little over 3 years. Favorite memory at NASCENT? The annual Halloween costume contest. It seems to get bigger and more interesting each year. What does a typical day look like for you? A typical day for me starts with a cup of coffee followed by daily stand up to discuss the status of the current sprint. Then after another cup of coffee I’m full steam ahead into current assignments which typically involves a mix of .Net coding and SQL work. Favorite part of the job? My favorite part of the job is problem solving. There are a lot of moving parts here at Nascent so there are always new challenges and things to improve upon. What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking for a job at NASCENT? Speaking from my own experience I would say be flexible and willing to learn. When I started at Nascent this was a totally new industry for me, so it took me a little while to get ramped up on all the processes and even the lingo. I feel like there is a lot of opportunity here to get involved with different things.

Join us in celebrating this month's Employee Spotlight: Alec Pabon Learn more about Alec below! How long have you been working with NASCENT? 2 years Favorite memory at NASCENT? My favorite memory is from my first week believe it or not! I was very eager to get started and had my wish granted with an impromptu trip to Chicago to deliver a pallet of equipment needed to finish the job. I ended up staying after I arrived to assist the team with the installation. The road trip accompanied by all the sights, getting to meet Joe for the first time, and immediately jumping onto the moving treadmill of our work will always be a memory I keep. What does a typical day look like for you? My typical days include me maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all our equipment spread between four separate sites across the eastern and central portion of Virginia. Favorite part of the job? My favorite part of my job is that no two days are the same! Everyday has different challenges that can be simple or complex, but through our teamwork and collaboration we always find the solution regardless of complexity. What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking for a job at NASCENT? . My advice to others looking to work with us is to be genuine, friendly, and persistent! Nascent is by far the best company I've had the opportunity to work with and is worth any effort made to join our team!!

How long have you been working with NASCENT?: 1 year and 8 months now (20 months) Favorite memory at NASCENT?: Our last Holydays Party at "Top Golf" - That was FUN! What does a typical day look like for you?: I usually start at 7:30AM by digging through some emails and Teems messages and reviewing my tasks and setting up a goal for a day. We also have our daily stand-up meeting in the morning to report and/or resolve any blockers. Day goes on with fulfilling tasks and performing our best as a team to deliver best possible product. Favorite part of the job?: My favorite part would be to communicate and collaborate with my team members, to resolve an issue or generate a solution. That is an exciting part of my job. Do you have any advice for anyone working at Nascent?: Remember that a job, even a great job or a fantastic career, doesn’t give your life meaning, at least not by itself. Life is about what you learn, who you are or can become, who you love and are loved by.
