Key Take-aways from sessions attended:
President Trump and Vice President Harris trade policies have numerous differences that traverse down different paths, but tend to converge on the same national outcomes
o Both recognize that access to US markets is critical for international countries and are unwilling to give up anything of value in reciprocal trade agreements
o Once tariffs are in place, they are very sticky.?President Biden has kept many of President Trump’s tariffs (or increased them).?Expect the same if President Trump is re-elected or if Vice President Harris is elected.
Artificial intelligence use for language translation is not mature as marketed and companies need to be careful with its use.??
o AI translations lack context and can ignore language tone & nuances
o Grammatical accuracy is lacking for complex languages (e.g., Hungarian) and needs to be reviewed before publishing
o Many languages are lacking robust data sets for training (e.g., Arabic dialects, Indonesian, etc.) making AI translations error-prone
Use of AI is growing with key usage in spotting/predicting trends in large data sets. But to use AI effectively, people must know the subject matter where AI is being used to assist.?People may not see the predictability patterns within large data sets, but they do know context and understand the subject matter which provides a quality check on AI output.??
