A big week for the Japan-U.S.-Mekong Power Partnership (JUMPP)!?On its 5th Anniversary, JUMPP partners gathered in Vientiane for three separate activities to advance power market development in the region. On Nov 19-20, ENR Power Sector Program (PSP) partners at NARUC trained the Lao PDR energy ministry on establishing an independent power market regulator to maintain stable electricity prices. Also on Nov 19-20, PSP partners at Deloitte trained utility officials on technical methodologies for trading power over cross-border transmission lines — a key step towards greater electricity connectivity in @ASEAN. The week ended with the quarterly Technical Advisory Group meeting, led by ENR and the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to review progress and milestones on the JUMPP Action Plan. At 5 years, the partnership is strong as ever taking key steps to advancing power sector regulations, renewables, and trade!
