Co-founder & CSO at Artifcts | Artifcts helps you to declutter and organize the 'stuff' and keep the memories, so you know what it all is, why it matters, and what you'll do with it next. | Swim Mom ??♀?

A funny thing happened the other day. I was on a live webinar with Trustworthy, and I tried to mention the book, "Keep the Memories, Lose the Stuff," by Matt Paxton. Ironic that "memories" is in the title, because even though I have mentioned this book 100 times before, I could not come up with that title to save my life. Among the several people in the webinar chat who did remember the title, it was doubly ironic that one of them is a proud volunteer in the brain health research study Artifcts? is leading with UMass Chan Medical School, funded by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MeHI). The future is here. It's now. You can help with the future of brain health screening so that maybe, just maybe, we could detect brain health changes sooner rather than later and upwards of 40% of cases of dementia would never occur. If you or a friend, neighbor, colleague, or other lovely human is 65+ and a US resident, please sign up. It's easy to join, easy and rewarding to create 5 Artifcts for the study, and bonus, you'll get a free Artifcts membership for your efforts! >>> Visit https://lnkd.in/gTGT-BZq to register, or >>> Scan the QR code below to get started. Thank you in advance! https://lnkd.in/gbqVNyAE #brainhealth #dementia #bethefuture

  • Many thanks to Samira Farmer for hosting and sponsoring DOYLE Auctioneers & Appraisers' Table Talk this morning at the the Doyle Warehouse in Kensington. All chapter members who attended enjoyed a beautiful breakfast, gorgeous swag bags with our own loop magnifiers, plus a very informative talk about the history of porcelain and how to identify a valuable specimen. And, of course, it is always great to spend time with colleagues and friends. Lots of shmoozing at the end! #napowdc #napo #Doyle #ProOrganizers #BusinessPartners

Thanks to NAPO National for spotlighting our chapter this month! Here to share about the Washington, DC Chapter is?Jill Katz, CPO?! Tell us about yourself: "Hi, my name is Jill Katz and I am the President of the Washington, DC Chapter. I am finishing my 2nd year as President and I served 3 years previously as Director of Membership. I started my business, One to Zen Organizing and joined NAPO in same year (2018) and specialize in serving neurodivergent clients and those going through life transitions.” What makes your chapter special? "One of the things that makes our chapter special is our very robust active group of about 25 Business Partners, thanks to our former BP Director?Samara G.?and our current BP Director?Heather Nickerson. We also have fabulous programming thanks to our current Director of Programming,?Jeanne Fox-Alston Fox Alston?who works very hard to create our chapter education. And we house that education on our website so all members can view it even if they missed a meeting. In addition to our monthly virtual programming, l we have many opportunities to meet in person through our workshops, socials, 3 neighborhood groups, our quarterly accountability group, and our new monthly coffee pop-ups." Are there any star volunteers you'd like to shine a light on? "It takes a village to make our chapter great. This year, we had over 30 volunteers in addition to our Board who stepped up to help our chapter. In my book, anyone who gives back is a star. However, I would like to highlight one person in our chapter that shines particularly bright and that is?Debbie Smith. Debbie is the past President of our chapter and she has remained on the board for 2 years after she served as President. She is such a giving person and her sparkle really adds to all our board and chapter interactions." Thank you Jill for sharing about NAPO Washington, DC and especially your leadership and contributions to NAPO!
