Treating Disease via Depletion of Soluble Factors

NaNotics LLC is developing a nanomedical platform – called NaNots – for treating major diseases – including a broad range of cancers and inflammatory disorders – via depletion from blood of specific molecules that drive or enable those diseases. NaNots are injected like a drug and clear their targets quickly, deeply and safely: typically >95% target depletion in < 5 minutes, without measurable toxicity. NaNotics is in the late preclinical stage; we are about to announce a collaboration with a major oncology center for a first-in-human study of NaNots against a soluble tumor-generated immune inhibitor, for treating cancer. The NaNotics team invented the NaNot technology, which is now the subject of 12 granted patents, with many more pending. NaNotics is based in Mill Valley, CA, just north of San Francisco.

On Father's Day this year, I presented our work on NaNots at the superb Longevity Summit Dublin conference. Sticking around so I can enjoy and support friends and family is a big reason why I'm interested in longevity science. NaNots, the new class of medicine our company is developing, will have their initial application in FDA-recognized conditions like cancer and sepsis, but our scientists believe that the NaNot platform also has strong utility against core mechanisms of aging, some of which I describe in this talk. I was delighted & honored to be invited back to present at Rejuvenation Startup Summit 2024 in Berlin. Great conference! Attached is the video of my presentation on NaNots, the new class of medicine we're developing. This video goes deeply into the significance of soluble signals – which are molecules that pass between cells and hugely affect cellular fate. Medical science is very cell-centric, but the signals that flow between cells are just as important in health and disease as the cells they affect. Existing drugs are poorly suited to address aberrant cell signaling, whereas NaNots are purpose-built to deplete these bad informational molecules.
