Last Friday, over 420 professionals gathered for the 2025 NAMI Indiana Mental Health & Criminal Justice Summit to tackle the intersection of mental illness and the justice system. Powerful keynotes and nine workshops explored system-wide collaborations, youth rights, reentry strategies, and more—driving real change for justice-impacted individuals. On February 15th, two NAMI Indiana members, with lived experience supporting a loved one with a mental health condition, were trained as new NAMI in the Lobby volunteers! In this role, they will provide resources and support to families experiencing crises in Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. On February 6, over 50 NAMI Indiana affiliate members and advocates gathered at the Statehouse for a day of meetings with representatives and senators. We had the honor of hearing from Senator Michael Crider and Representative Victoria Garcia Wilburn, who shared valuable insights on legislative priorities and community initiatives. Members from our board also joined us in sharing their lived experiences and advocating for mental health resources in our state. Thank you to all in attendance! #Advocate4MentalHealth
