How have things with M3P (Medicare Prescription Payment Plan) been for you and your team…aside from lots of questions? Feedback from those closest to the patients will be able to provide insights that data will not capture for quite some time. However, if you have not heard much yet, here is one scenario, using my Grandma as an example: 1?? As caregivers, we often advise collecting any mail or bills and holding onto them until we can review and explain them. 2?? If I am unfamiliar with M3P, I am going to do some research before paying a bill that now comes directly from the insurance company. 3?? That bill might sit long enough that the patient is automatically unenrolled for non-payment, without the patient or caregiver even realizing why. Now the patient goes to pick up their medication and is suddenly hit with an unexpected out-of-pocket cost when it’s been $0. Here is what we are hearing so far: ? Patients, Caregivers, Pharmacies, and Offices still need more education. ? Pharmacy Adjudication codes saying they are enrolled on the back end are being missed for various reasons. ? There is still lots of discussion from the healthcare workers (Medication Access Coordinators) on foundation grant navigation. And the list goes on… We will be diving deeper into some of these challenges and solutions during the Webinar Panel on March 27th hosted by Accessia Health (Link for registration: https://lnkd.in/eDcRg5_8 ) I will be continuing the conversation with The HealthWell Foundation at Asembia's AXS25 Summit this April for Part III of this discussion we have had since 2023. I love that we have a platform and organizations that allow us to collaborate with those closest to the patients for actionable insights. Interested in partnering with the National Association of Medication Access & Patient Advocacy (NAMAPA) to develop or share education on a topic important to your brand or organization? Reach out to me or our Vice President, Lacey Varnon. We would love to collaborate! ?? Any other feedback or questions you have on M3P? Send them my way, and I will add them to our list and help get the answers! #M3P #MedicareD

??What is a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)? Briana O'Dwyer from the National Association of Medication Access & Patient Advocacy (NAMAPA) breaks it down for us! ?? HDHPs might offer lower monthly premiums, but they come with higher deductibles and out-of-pocket costs. For those managing chronic conditions like asthma and allergies, these plans can make accessing care and medication more challenging, as out-of-pocket expenses can add up before meeting the deductible. Before choosing a plan, consider your healthcare needs carefully. The right plan can make all the difference in managing your health and finances! ??
