关于我们
The North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded in 1980, our mission is to forge partnerships among citizens, scientists, and professionals to foster the management and protection of lakes and reservoirs for today and tomorrow. While the focus is lakes the medium is water. As lakes are a logical endpoint for water in all landscape forms NALMS is involved in land, streams, wetlands and even estuaries in the course of our activities. NALMS welcomes anyone interested in lakes and lake management. NALMS members are academics, concerned citizens, lake management organizations, lake property owners, lake users, legislators, policy makers, politicians, professional lake managers, regulators, scientists, students, and volunteer monitors among others. Each member is an important partner in achieving our mission and the following goals: ? Facilitate the exchange of information on aspects of managing lakes and their watersheds. ? Promote public awareness of lake ecosystems. ? Encourage public support for programs promoting the management of lakes and their watersheds. ? Provide guidance to those involved in or planning management activities for lakes and their watersheds. ? Improve the professional status of all persons engaged in aspects of managing lakes and their watersheds. ? Identify needs and encourage research on lake ecology and watershed management.

Senior Environmental Scientist, Water Quality Expert, Certified in Sustainability, Climate Risk and Environmental Resilience, Sustainable Agriculture Advocate
I had an amazing time presenting "Algae Harvesting: A Scalable Solution for Long-Term Nutrient Reduction and Management in Lakes" to a packed room at the North American Lake Management Society's #NALMS annual symposium in Lake Tahoe! The presentation showcased results from 13 demonstration projects, treating approximately 20 million gallons of water and achieving over 70% reductions in TN, TP, and Chlorophyll. I also shared exciting findings from field trials showing that algae-based fertilizer can supply up to 50% of the nitrogen needed for SAF crop Carinata—delivering yields comparable to mineral fertilizers. Improving #waterquality and preventing #HABs go hand in hand with advancing #sustainableagriculture and fostering a #circularnutrienteconomy. Leveraging recovered nutrients from algae to grow our food brings us significantly closer to these goals. Looking forward to the continued collaboration and innovation in this field! #AECOM #sustainableagriculture
